Eric's Birthday

Eric has been dying for ANYONE to take him fishing since we came here. For a birthday surprise he got his own pole and I took him. Blessedly there was a man and his son who sort of took Eric and Jared under his wing and taught them things, and shared bait, and even had an extra pole for Jared. How kind! I want to be like that.

Faith caught the ultimate Birthday gift for Eric--a massive night crawler!

Here she is gifting it to him.

This is how Marisa enjoys fishing--shade and a BOOK!

Eric's catch! We brought all four home and put them in the pond, with all the other critters!

Damian took the boys up for the first time ever! It was a special birthday flight!

Even More of Faith's Birthday

Faith's Birthday was on June 27th. Here are some more photos.
This was a game like "Plinko" on the Price is Right. We made it out of foam board and long straight pins. The ball landed in different slots (tuna cans) that represented different colors of tokens.

Nicole Neal (Marisa's best friend) came to lend a hand--and make a fetching hat!

Money sent from Grandma Lola! Thanks Grandma!

Package from Grandma Heidi!

It's a doll! Thanks Grandma!

Faith's Birthday

This year for Faithy's 6th birthday we decided to do a carnival since our house isn't so big. After days of glorious sun, it rained! It started as the first guest arrived, and stopped as the parents came! We worked it out anyway. We moved things to the porch and inside, and it was fun all the same.

Here is her Merry-Go-Round birthday cake that we made.

Eric was a carnival worker for me.

Marisa manned the prize table and cotton candy maker. Jared was a clown that made balloon animals--he was really good at it!

One of the tables with puddles on it. I thought I'd take pictures of what it was "supposed" to be, even though we retreated to the house!

This game was "Lucky Ducks". You picked a duck and whatever color was on the bottom was the color of token you received. (Token were traded for prizes and food at Marisa's table.)

Just a bit to start with

Okay. I've decided to try out making a blog. I've got relatives and friends who are doing a great job with it, and if they are willing to put in the effort to stay connected, then I ought to do something too. I don't know how nice it will look--I really don't know what I'm doing, but my girlfriend came over and showed me the basics, so here we go.
Marisa-12 In Oklahoma we see turtles on the roads (apparently they like the warmth of the pavement). Our friends, the Neals, stopped and picked this one up while bringing Marisa home. He now resides in our pond. We watched a turtle (might've been the same one)laying eggs in our yard this week. Kind of cool.

Faith-5 Oklahoma is the first place we've lived that has FIREFLIES! We love to sit on the porch in an evening and watch/catch them. Faith has several in this bottle--but you can't really see them.

Damian has been working on getting his pilots license. This is the plane that he flies, a Cessna 172. He should be done by the end of the month.

Faith-6 Loves frogs! She and the boys are awfully good at catching them. We've brought several home from different locations and given them a home in our pond. I wonder if the turtle eat them.
